Republican Senator: Bush's Skull Is "Solid Granite"

Conrad Burns (R, About To Be Booted) actually said this in public, and he's still walking around (as of this writing).

Burns says president's skull is "solid granite"

Feb 28, 2006

A Republican senator says President Bush is stubborn and has a skull of -- quote -- "solid granite."

Those are the words of Montana Senator Conrad Burns, in criticizing Bush's continued support for placing some U-S port operations under a company based in Dubai.

After the fact, Burns' spokesman tried to spin the statement as "not an insult" but "just a little joke."

Sure. Right. Whatever you say.

It now looks like Conrad Burns wants to take back his "granite skull" statement. Obviously, Burns fears the wrath of BushCo more than he fears the registered voters in Montana, who gave the Democrats the State House, the majority in the State Senate, and the Governor's Mansion in 2004.

Conrad Burns, who received more cash from Jack Abramoff than any other elected official, is just a chip off of the old block.

But I'm glad he tried to distance himself from George W. Blockhead. Dems can use this to unseat him in November.

So you think you know Delilah?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: It looks like the rats are deserting the sinking ship.

By the way, I checked out "Future Curb Ornaments Of America." Very funny!
