It's VP Mania Day!

Faster than speed dial!

More powerful than an AP breaking news story!

Able to leapfrog oceans (and tall buildings)
in a single bound!

Look! In your inbox!

It's a scoop!

It's a headline!

It's the Democratic VP Candidate!

Senator John Kerry is poised to announce his VP pick via his email list, possibly tonight or tomorrow morning.

What a brilliant move! If you want to be among the first few million to know who has been tapped, you have to be signed up at www.johnkerry.com!

Just imagine who might already be registered...

Kerry supporters, of course

Kerry haters

Newswire services

Every Rightwing pundit in America

Karl Rove et al

Fundamentalist Xtians

World leaders and their government staffers

The Vatican

Political memorabilia makers

US Military leaders

Military personnel serving around the world and here at home

Corporate Pirates

and the beat goes on...

Archpundit LINK thinks it's Gephardt:
Just got some scuttlebutt, top Gephardt aide Joyce Aboussie has been sent a private plane to join Dick Gephardt for....one can only assume the announcement that Dick Gephardt will be the next Vice President Nominee for the Democratic Party.

UPDATE: If Aboussie is being flown out and ordering staff to be ready for a change, it's hard to imagine that it is anything, but gearing up for an announcement that he is the VP nominee. He and Aboussie are incredibly close and she is his right hand. Unless this is a bit of disinformation, this is the real deal.

UPDATE 2: Political Wire hears similar rumors.

This is going to be embarrassing if I'm wrong given the firestorm it created!

Personally, I have a feeling pundits aren't looking in the right place for signs. The travel schedules of a certain presumptive Democratic presidential nominee and a former trial lawyer are set to converge tonight and tomorrow.

hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmm...

If Senator Kerry does announce his VP choice tonight or tomorrow, would he schedule such a monumental announcement in the presence of someone who's not his choice?

Maybe... especially if you have the attention of the entire planet in the palm of your hand right now.

Anything's possible.

Just think...

Every newsroom in America is concentrating on the short list Dems right now. When the announcement is made, the hairdos will all run with stories about the Chosen One. They'll have bios and art (from their film archive), and their "guest fascists" will say they knew who it would be all along!

Next, because they did all of that research, they'll run stories about the Dems who weren't chosen... and a Compare and Contrast Fest.

Dem political junkies will secretly smirk as Dems once again get some freakin' attention from the news media.

Stay close to your inboxes, world!
