About that CNN/Gallup Poll

You know, the only poll out of 11 which claims that Kerry got no bounce from the Democratic Convention...?

The ONLY poll being discussed on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, and FOX this morning?

Yeah, that one!

Check out my previous post on CNN's "Poll Weighting" before you believe these new results:

Link: CNN's Apparent Weighting Game

Take a look at that CNN/Gallup Poll's INTERNALS:

FAVORABLE RATING
KERRY 58
BUSH 52

HANDLE ROLE OF COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF
KERRY 51%
BUSH 46%

HANDLE IRAQ BETTER?
KERRY 49(44)
BUSH 47(49)

HANDLE THE ECONOMY BETTER?
KERRY 54
BUSH 43

LEAD THE WAR ON TERROR?
BUSH 54(56)
KERRY 42(38)

MORE HONEST & TRUSTWORTHY
KERRY 48(42)
BUSH 43(42)

STRONG & DECISIVE
BUSH 51
KERRY 42

WHO IS THE UNITER?
KERRY 52
BUSH 39

WHO IS THE OPTIMIST?
KERRY 42
BUSH 41

Bush leads in only 2 areas: Strong & Decisive (You don't have to be either smart or correct for morons to rate you highly in this area!) Lead The War On Terror (Morons obviously prefer a president who will bomb the shit out of foreigners, and they don't want to be bothered with a lack of concrete evidence!)

Remember, CNN/Gallup "weights" its polling according to the OPINIONS of the 2000 election's LIKELY VOTERS.

We all know how "accurate" that data is today!

CNN/Gallup pollsters even explained (with deadpan expressions) this morning that because there has not been a "significant bounce" in the number of Democrats who are "likely Kerry Voters," Senator Kerry did not receive the increased number of supporters (among likely voters) necessary for a "Convention Bounce."

Likely voters in the 2000 election?

(Likely- leaning toward registering and maybe voting for Gore)

Flash Forward to today...
Those likely voters no longer represent an accurate polling sample because most of them are now REGISTERED and COMMITTED Kerry Voters.

Now, compare the other major polls conducted during the same time period (without weighting 2000 election likely voters) to CNN/Gallup's Poll:

RCP Average 7/26 - 7/31
45.5% Bush /49.0% Kerry (+4.5 )

CBS News(1052 LV)7/30-8/01

CNN/Gallup/USAT (763 LV) 7/30-7/31

Newsweek (1,010 RV) 7/29-7/30

Zogby (1,001 LV) 7/26-7/29

ARG (776 RV) 7/30-8/01

Tell CNN what you think of their blatant attempt to prop up the former Governor of Texas:
