Obama Is Killing The Clinton Cash Cow

Obama had better be the real deal: he'd better be able to spend the next four years on 3-4 hours of sleep each night; he'd better be able to raise an additional $100 million for congressional candidates and crisscross the nation campaigning for downticket candidates, while simultaneously fighting off the likes of Gingrich, Boehner, Limbaugh & Co. 24/7; and he'd better be ready to face the wrath of his own party if everyone doesn't get the exact pony on his/her personal wish list.

'Cause that's what the Clintons have done for the party and for the country.
2006: Ms. (Tracey) Schmitt took a jab at Democrats, criticizing them as relying on the assistance of a politician no longer in office. "Given the current lineup of Democratic leaders in Washington," she said, "it's no surprise that many Democrats would turn to Bill Clinton for help."

Mr. Clinton's advisers say he is entirely motivated by his desire to resurrect his party's political fortunes.

"President Clinton's goal here is helping Democrats win in 2006 to put Congress in the hands of the party that will get the country back on the right track," said Jay Carson, a spokesman for Mr. Clinton.

And we all know how the 2006 election turned out, don't we?

As for Hillary Clinton's fundraising ability...

That said, Mrs. Clinton is a fund-raising machine in her own right, and her efforts on behalf of the Democratic Party have made her a popular headliner among Democrats nationwide. She has helped the party and its candidates raise about $55 million since taking office in 2001.

And I hope those superdelegates (both elected officials and party members raising money for cash-strapped candidates) who've endorsed Obama have thought about the cash cow drying up.

You can't vilify the Clinton name now, then expect that name... the one you've viciously tarnished... to help you later. It doesn't work that way.

Here's the list of "I don't need your help" Dems. Remember it:

Here's hoping Obama can do it all for you.

'Cause you've helped Obama kill the Clinton cash cow, and Republicans salute you.

Truly heavy sigh.

This is the only blog I've been reading, and I just want to thank you for still being here.

Hope this finds you and your daughter well,

I don't see why the Clinton camp won't be able to raise money, like they always have, for their party if Clinton doesn't win the nomination. It's not like she was President in 2006, was she?

Anyway, by this principle, these same people would be screwed if the Repubs won the White House against Hillary, anyway, which is much more likely than the Repubs beating Obama, don't you think?

Nice concept, though. Interesting talking point.
