Obama: "I Have Become A Symbol..."

Obama's "a symbol," alright.

But you have to have lived a while to understand what he symbolizes to at least 18 million of us.

From The WaPo:

"This is the moment . . . that the world is waiting for. I have become a symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions."

~Barack H. Obama~

"Returning to our best traditions," eh?

Whatever happened to HOPE & CHANGE? Now that the kidz have drunk the Kool-Aid, is this Obama's new "Sucker The Old Farts" mantra?

The WaPo's response:

As he marches toward Inauguration Day (Election Day is but a milestone on that path), Obama's biggest challenger may not be Republican John McCain but rather his own hubris.

Some say the supremely confident Obama -- nearly 100 days from the election, he pronounces that "the odds of us winning are very good" -- has become a president-in-waiting. But in truth, he doesn't need to wait: He has already amassed the trappings of the office, without those pesky decisions.

~Dana Milbank~

Ouch.

That's gotta hurt.

Obama reminds me of T.S. Elliot's moth in The Burnt Dancer...

Within the yellow ring of flame
A black moth through the night
Caught in the circle of desire
Expiates his heedless flight
With beat of wings that do not tire
Distracted from more vital values
To golden values of the flame

Like the moth, Obama has made it abundantly clear that he sees only "the golden values of the flame."

The "more vital values" to Obama: mere distractions.

Truly heavy sigh.

Number of days since Donna Brazile promised to leave the party if superdelegates decided the Dem nominee:

Donna has known for a long time now that superdelegates would be necessary for any Dem candidate to win the nomination this year. Ask Donna when she intends to keep her promise.
Don't hold your breath awaiting a reply.

The full quote, according to Politico.com was:

"It has become increasingly clear in my travel, the campaign, that the crowds, the enthusiasm, 200,000 people in Berlin, is not about me at all. It’s about America. I have just become a symbol...”

I wonder what traditions he's speaking of. There are never any details, just rhetoric.

I wonder what traditions he's referring to? And why is it that no matter what he says we come away with more questions than answers?

Oh Yeah he's a symbol all right. A symbol of what can go wrong in a primary when you have a bunch of thieves and con-jobs running the show.

God, Delilah, does he not make you just want to spew?

Sister, you need to allow OPEN ID logins so that wordpress folks can post. I am going to use my old google blog just cause I really want to say Hi.
