It's The Independents, Stupid.

I've seen these same Independent voters after every debate (prez and VP) since 2004, and they're still undecided. (Hey, that one guy's hair is a lot longer now!)

Here they are after last night's VP debate:

These Independents are the reason both Bill Clinton and Senator Clinton aim (-ed) their campaigns at the middle... and didn't piss them off by insulting their intelligence, their communities, or their family values.

By the way, Republicans raised $66 million in September.

Obama's plan was to raise $100 million per month after rejecting public financing. Hm. That's not working out so well.

In mid-June, Obama set a goal of raising a combined $450 million for his campaign and the DNC by Election Day. Reaching that target requires an unprecedented average of $100 million per month. Democrats didn't hit the mark in July, when Obama drew $51 million and the DNC got $27 million.

Oh, and...

That sudden "spike" in Palin approval last night was no accident.

It's an omen.

Independents seem to like her.

And the Clintons aren't stupid, either.

Number of days since Donna Brazile promised to leave the party if superdelegates decided the Dem nominee:

Donna has known for a long time now that superdelegates would be necessary for any Dem candidate to win the nomination this year. Ask Donna when she intends to keep her promise.
Don't hold your breath awaiting a reply.

Here's Donna now...
