Faster Than A Speeding Non-Denial Denial

Well, it didn't even take 24 hours for White House Spokesman, Scott McClellan, to lie about CBS' stance on George W. Deserter's TANG documents and twack a little old lady who happened to witness the Coward-In-Chief's youthful antics, like disobeying a direct order and taking a hike during wartime.

White House highlights doubts about reports Bush had help avoiding Vietnam duty

ST. CLOUD, United States (AFP) - The White House emphasized doubts surrounding documents used in a recent CBS News report, claiming that US President George W. Bush had help in escaping Vietnam War duty.

Note Scotty's contingency plan and future defense ("I didn't say I was certain. I said may!"):
"CBS has now acknowledged that the crux of their story may have been based on forged documents," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters as Bush made a campaign stop in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

The White House had earlier refused to comment on the authenticity of the documents dated from the 1970s, which suggested that Bush, now 58, had help in being assigned to a Texas National Guard unit and avoiding service in Vietnam.
Note Dan's use of the conditional:
CBS News anchor Dan Rather on Wednesday acknowledged that the documents' authenticity was questionable and told The Washington Post: "If the documents are not what we were led to believe, I'd like to break that story. Any time I'm wrong, I want to be right out front and say 'Folks, this is what went wrong and how it went wrong.'" LINK
Here's where Scotty sees the line, smirks at all of us, and jumps over it gleefully:
"Now, some are looking at feelings and not the facts," McClellan said, adding: "We don't have to rely on the feelings of a nice woman who has firmly stated her opposition to the president."

Marian Carr Knox did nothing but relate her professional dealings with a 26 year old TANG officer, whom she witnessed disobeying a direct order and sneering at military regulations.

We don't know for whom she voted in 2000, and frankly, Scotty, we don't give a damn!

"Opposition to the president" sounds absolutely Nixonesque!
