George W. Hates...
... women and their families.
Ignore the Bushisms for a moment. Focus on the president's message: if women don't stop demanding justice in the courts, physicians will stop practicing medicine, and women will die.
George W. wants us to stop complaining about incompetent physicians...
George W. offers us a clear choice: embrace incompetence (and death, disfigurement, or a lifetime of pain and suffering) or risk death, disfigurement, and a lifetime of pain and suffering because we won't be able to find a physician to treat us.
Some choice, George W.!
Bush: OB-GYNs Kept from 'Practicing Their Love'
POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (Reuters) - President Bush offered an unexpected reason on Monday for cracking down on frivolous medical lawsuits: "Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country."
The Republican president, long known for verbal and grammatical lapses, included the anecdote about obstetrician gynecologists in his stump speech attacking Democratic presidential rival Sen. John Kerry and his running mate, Sen. John Edwards, a former trial lawyer.
At a rally of cheering supporters in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Bush made his usual pitch for limiting "frivolous lawsuits" that he said drive up the cost of health care and run doctors out of business.
But then he added, "We've got an issue in America. Too many good docs are getting out of business. Too many OB-GYNs aren't able to practice their love with women all across this country." LINK
Frivolous lawsuits?
There's something truly wrong when your president expects you to ignore your family's pain and suffering and forfeit your legal right to seek justice when physicians make glaring mistakes.
Medical malpractice is not our cross to bear, America.
George W. has run to (and hidden behind) a stable of lawyers his entire life, and you can bet the ranch that he'd file suit against any and all physicians whose mistakes caused the slightest pain and suffering to a family member.
But we're not George W.
We don't count.
