"Christian Reviewer" Ted Baehr Hates Talladega Nights

All you need to know about this issue:

1. The Christian reviewer complaining has been caught taking money to promote at least six films...

Baehr admits to accepting payment for helping market six films over the years, among them Gods and Generals, Gordy and Left Behind.

2. It's a freakin' Will Ferrell movie, for cryin' out loud!

Talladega Nights (#1 at the box office this weekend) takes sarcastic aim at the NASCAR demographic... just like Waiting For Guffman took aim at community theatre types, and American Beauty took aim at the darker side of suburbia.

So what did Baehr have to say about Talladega Nights and Will Ferrell?

"Don't count on Hollywood (or the news media, for that matter) to condemn and denounce Will Ferrell and his partner, writer and director Adam McKay. And, don't expect any self-righteous liberals to get on their soapbox and say that they will never work with Farrell or McKay, or see one of their movies," Baehr said in his review.

He said that "Talladega Nights" is one of the most "blasphemous, politically correct major movies ever released by a major Hollywood studio."

He continued his rant, saying that Hollywood and the mainstream media stood by silently while Dan Brown and Ron Howard mocked Christian beliefs and Roman Catholic leaders in "The Da Vinci Code" and when Martin Scorsese claimed in "The Last Temptation of Christ" that Jesus was a "mixed-up" and "weak-minded" wimp.

There are so many things wrong with Baehr's "logic" that it would take a super computer to analyze all of them; however...

Simple Truths:

1. The above quote is taken from an article on the Entertainment Page.

2. You can't buy publicity like this.

Even if he hadn't taken the money, this man is just a dipshit ... I had a few beefs with "Talladaga Nights," mainly because it dragged in the middle when it was just Ferrell doing his "rehab" .. Sasha Baron Cohen, though, was friggin hilarious, and if you can't see that, you have no sense of humor whatsoever
