Cue That Law & Order Pizzicato!

George W. is a typical Law & Order suspect... Transparent to Lennie Briscoe, but virtually impossible to prosecute without a David Chase Deus Ex Machina Moment immediately following the last commercial break.

George W. is the executive who gambles and loses the family fortune and hires a hit man to off the unsuspecting wife in order to collect the life insurance settlement.

He's the black sheep whose funds have been cut off to teach him a lesson, but whose treacherous tendencies are underestimated by the family purse string tightener.

He's the child whose grandmother has paid off dozens of victims in order to cover up a lifetime of larceny.

He's the White Power cult leader, who coerces his followers to murder racial minorities and later claims no responsibility whatsoever.

And worst of all, he's the child who kills his parents and expects a jury to feel sorry for him because he's an orphan.

Senator John Kerry knows something about perps like George W.

For several years, he served as a District Attorney, successfully prosecuting mobsters and corporate pirates, before becoming Attorney General of Massachusetts.

Channeling his inner Sam Waterston, Senator John Kerry is now fighting to expose George W.'s $200 billion Iraq extortion scheme, which has caused untold human devastation, emptied the American family's coffers, and condemned future generations to the hidden costs of repayment of his debts.

Will George W. be shamed into admitting his crimes on the witness stand?

Will the jury (AKA the voters) hold George W. accountable for his crimes?

Every one of his spokespersons, assuming the role of one of those Law & Order defense attorneys we love to hate, ignores the damage George W. has done to society-at-large, and accuses the prosecutor of mishandling the prosecution.

Case in point:
Kerry says Iraq war leaves no money for costs at home

BY LIZ SIDOTI

WASHINGTON -- Democrat John Kerry links the cost of the Iraq war to problems at home and vows in a new television ad to both ''defend America and fight for the middle class.''

''Two hundred billion dollars. That's what we are spending in Iraq because George Bush chose to go it alone,'' Kerry says in the ad, to start airing today in 13 competitive states where he is on the air. ''Now the president tells us we don't have the resources to take care of health care and education here at home. That's wrong.''

The $200 billion estimate reflects the campaign's calculation of funds already spent on combat and reconstruction in Iraq, and money anticipated to be spent through next summer, based on congressional reports. --snip--

''After attacking the president for not spending enough on Iraq, John Kerry is now attacking the president for spending too much,'' said Bush campaign spokesman Steve Schmidt. LINK

Read Steve Schmidt's words again.

Not word one about health care.

Not word one about education.

Not word one about the death and destruction caused by George W.'s criminal Iraq adventure.

Attacking the prosecutor is much easier than defending George W.'s crimes.

Barring one of those famous David Chase Deus-Ex-Machina Moments, in which the guilt ridden mother breaks down and tells the truth about her murderous son, or the wheelchair bound wife realizes that her loving husband really did try to kill her for her fortune, or the grandmother decides she can't continue to cover up for her angel faced, yet devilish grandchild...

... A jury of unsuspecting, trusting citizens might just acquit George W. and allow him to continue his crime spree, leaving our righteous Law & Order prosecutors to play out one of those bittersweet 30 second endings: disillusioned, yet determined to continue the neverending fight for justice, they shake their heads, lament the moral cost to society of the acquittal, and don their top coats for the cold trek home.
