Republicans Heart Obama In Virginia!

As a resident of DC who shops weekly across the river in Virginia, I find this CNN exit poll data (as to who voted for Clinton and who voted for Obama) in Virginia... er, telling:

Vote By Party

Republican

Clinton- 23%; Obama- 72%

Vote By Ideology

Conservative

Clinton- 24%; Obama- 73%

Is U.S. Ready to Elect a Woman President?

Definitely Not Ready

Clinton- 9%; Obama- 87%

Vote by Sex and Race

White Men

Clinton- 40%; Obama- 58%

Black Men

Clinton- 6%; Obama- 94%

There are a lot more stats at the link, which go far in explaining current sentiments in this Democratic Party primary race.

I don't care how people vote. The only thing that disturbs me is the total lack of party verification/ affiliation where I voted yesterday here in DC.

Only 2 people requested Republican ballots while I was in the building when asked "Democrat or Republican?" by the poll worker at the sign-in table.

And there was no exit polling in DC. None.

In the future, I'd like to see Democrats and Republicans --across the country-- actually verify their party membership/ affiliation when they show up to vote. Voting data, like that collected in Virginia yesterday, is extremely informative.

Is that too much to ask?
