Obama Finally Explains It All (Hint: He's Not The Wolf)

Thanks for explaining why I didn't vote for you, Senator Obama!

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday he would be more willing than Hillary Rodham Clinton to work with Republicans.

"Her natural inclination is to draw a picture of Republicans as people who need to be crushed and defeated," Obama said during a telephone interview from Texas with the Cincinnati Enquirer editorial board. "It's not entirely her fault. She's been the target of some unfair attacks in the past."

"I'm not a person who believes any one party has a monopoly on wisdom," Obama said.

My advice...

Don't talk to wolves on your way to Grandma's house, Senator Obama!

And never dismiss Senator Clinton as merely "a target of unfair attacks" until you've walked in her shoes.

She's no babe in the woods when it comes to Republicans, Dear...

Who's Lying: Canada Or Obama?

Well, Obama's people now say that he never sent a message to Canada about NAFTA. But first...

Obama's team is not denying the conversation CTV is reporting and it's quite plausible the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value, and to add, because Obama has no intention of doing what he's campaigning on with regards to NAFTA. Obama welshing on his pledge to take public financing for the general election also comes to mind.

Read this:

The Canadian embassy is proactively reaching out to the campaigns "all the time," Norton said, to try to meet with aides who might form the foreign and economic policy teams of any future administration. "We talk about the whole range of Canada-U.S. issues which we think it's critically important that the presidential candidates be aware of including the number of jobs that depend in the United States on Canada-U.S. trade." said Roy Norton, who heads up the congressional, public and intergovernmental affairs portfolio for the Canadian embassy.

Now, tell me why they never talked about NAFTA.

Wait! Canada now denies ever mentioning the word NAFTA with either campaign:

"None of the presidential campaigns have called either the Ambassador or any of the officials here to raise Nafta," Landry said.

And if they did, why won't Obama's campaign do this?

The Clinton campaign said that they give the Canadian government "blanket immunity" to reveal who supposedly called them.

Someone's lying: Canada or Obama?

Obama's Canadian Lie Has Legs, Baby!

To the commenter who writes about the Clintons still being able to raise money for the party after being vilified by Obama supporters:

The ability to raise money is wholly dependent upon "a good name."

Who steals my purse steals trash; ’t is something, nothing;
’T was mine, ’t is his, and has been slave to thousands;
But he that filches from me my good name
Robs me of that which not enriches him
And makes me poor indeed.

Stay in school, Kids.

Obama To Canada: "Don't Worry About NAFTA; I Was Lying"

The headline reads: Obama staffer gave warning of NAFTA rhetoric. The meat of the matter:
Both Obama and Hillary Clinton have been critical of the long-standing North American Free Trade Agreement over the course of the Democratic primaries, saying that the deal has cost U.S. workers' jobs.

Within the last month, a top staff member for Obama's campaign telephoned Michael Wilson, Canada's ambassador to the United States, and warned him that Obama would speak out against NAFTA, according to Canadian sources.

The staff member reassured Wilson that the criticisms would only be campaign rhetoric, and should not be taken at face value.

But Tuesday night in Ohio, where NAFTA is blamed for massive job losses, Obama said he would tell Canada and Mexico "that we will opt out unless we renegotiate the core labour and environmental standards."

What else is Obama lying about?

Best. Debate Answer. Ever.

If you missed last night's Dem debate, you missed Timmeh Russert Potato Head getting his Yukon Gold ass handed to him...

RUSSERT: Tonight, will you say that the pledge of five million jobs (in New York) might be a little exuberant?

CLINTON: No, Tim, because what happened in 2000 is that I thought Al Gore was going to be president and when I made the pledge, I was counting on having a Democratic White House, a Democratic president, who shared my values about what we needed to do to make the economy work for everyone and to create shared prosperity.

And as you know, despite the difficulties of a Bush administration and a Republican Congress for six years of my first term, I have worked very hard to create jobs. But, obviously, as president, I will have a lot more tools at my disposal.

And the reason why we can create at least five million new jobs -- I mean, this is not a big leap -- 22.7 million new jobs were created during the eight years of the Clinton administration under my husband.

We can create at least five million new jobs. I'm not just talking about it. I helped to pass legislation to begin a training program for green collar jobs. I want to see people throughout Ohio being trained to do the work that will put solar panels on roofs, install wind turbines, do geothermal, take advantage of biofuels.

And I know that if we had put $5 billion into the stimulus package to really invest in the training and the tax incentives that would have created these jobs, as the Democrats wanted, as I originally proposed, we would be on the way to creating those.

You know, take a country like Germany. They made a big bet on solar power. They have a smaller economy and population than ours. They've created several hundred thousand new jobs, and these are jobs that can't be outsourced.

These are jobs that have to be done in Youngstown, in Dayton, in Cincinnati. These are jobs that we can create here with the right combination of tax incentives, training and a commitment to following through.

So I do think that at least five million jobs are fully capable of being produced within the next 10 years.

Wow! And wait 'till you read Timmeh's response to that thwack-filled answer...

RUSSERT: Brian?

WILLIAMS: Senator Obama, yesterday, Senator Clinton gave a speech on foreign policy, and I'm going to read you a quote from it.

Typical.

Obama Is Killing The Clinton Cash Cow

Obama had better be the real deal: he'd better be able to spend the next four years on 3-4 hours of sleep each night; he'd better be able to raise an additional $100 million for congressional candidates and crisscross the nation campaigning for downticket candidates, while simultaneously fighting off the likes of Gingrich, Boehner, Limbaugh & Co. 24/7; and he'd better be ready to face the wrath of his own party if everyone doesn't get the exact pony on his/her personal wish list.

'Cause that's what the Clintons have done for the party and for the country.
2006: Ms. (Tracey) Schmitt took a jab at Democrats, criticizing them as relying on the assistance of a politician no longer in office. "Given the current lineup of Democratic leaders in Washington," she said, "it's no surprise that many Democrats would turn to Bill Clinton for help."

Mr. Clinton's advisers say he is entirely motivated by his desire to resurrect his party's political fortunes.

"President Clinton's goal here is helping Democrats win in 2006 to put Congress in the hands of the party that will get the country back on the right track," said Jay Carson, a spokesman for Mr. Clinton.

And we all know how the 2006 election turned out, don't we?

As for Hillary Clinton's fundraising ability...

That said, Mrs. Clinton is a fund-raising machine in her own right, and her efforts on behalf of the Democratic Party have made her a popular headliner among Democrats nationwide. She has helped the party and its candidates raise about $55 million since taking office in 2001.

And I hope those superdelegates (both elected officials and party members raising money for cash-strapped candidates) who've endorsed Obama have thought about the cash cow drying up.

You can't vilify the Clinton name now, then expect that name... the one you've viciously tarnished... to help you later. It doesn't work that way.

Here's the list of "I don't need your help" Dems. Remember it:

Today's Sermon: The Virgin Mary Pretzel Puzzlement

As the King of Siam would say, "'Tis a puzzlement."

Not really, though.

Watch the CNN video "news" report.

Look closely at the Virgin Mary Pretzel...

Yep, that's the current bid on EBay.

One of the sellers said, "I would find this money to be a blessing."

Let me get this straight: Preying on the superstitions of the desperate and separating them from their money is a blessing?

Ahem.

Matthew 10:1

Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

Thus endeth today's sermon.

Go forth today, knowing that there are wolves around every corner and on every online auction site...

Hoping for you to bless them with your money.

Think about it.

I mean it, damn it!
